 Our group had so many nice takes that we did what every rational group would do. We all made different videos. We all had different endings. We all started our music video at different times too. It was actually really funny because it was the battle of the video. We obviously only chose one and Sarah ended beating us all. Hers made more sense than anyone elses's I believe. I used OpenShot to edit my video while everyone else used a different editing app. Sarah used iMovie on her phone which was amazing because the quality came out very professional. I made a mental note to use iMovie in the future because I doubt it gave her the trouble OpenShot gave me. It was a very long process using OpenShot just because it was my first time using the app. I usually used an editing app that I got from the app store but I wanted to do something different this time. The hardest part about my music video was my part actually. I had one of the shortest parts so I had to make it long enough so we wouldn't be losing a substantial amount of footage. Plus I didn't want to make the video mainly consisted of one person. Even after I added and took off many videos, my part still didn't seem like it was enough. So I made the decision of putting it in the part of the song where she was talking about buying things. It went perfectly and didn't throw off anything. But besides that, I had no problems at all. I did the usual process of converting it to MP4 then changing the quality to 720p to match my phones quality. After that was done, I sent it to the groupchat with the girls and we decided from there.

  How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? -   My product uses conventions by having on heavy display the song "Independent Women Pt. 1" and having the matching outfits and more. Things that bring in the idea of Destiny's Child as a group. Having little moments where we seem real close was important because Destiny's Child always came off as a sisterhood and nothing less. It represents the teen social group or just anyone that's a fan of Destiny's Child because it's a Destiny's Child song.   How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?  -  My product doesn't engage with any audiences because a music video very rarely does. Genre Research: All the Bright Places

  Welcome back to our next and final genre research movie. The movie we chose was All the Bright Places. The first thing we noticed about the opening sequence was the location since they were on a bridge.  The viewers can automatically assume that the bridge has some meaning to one of the main characters since she was standing on it. We want our location to have importance to the opening scene. We want people to be able to guess that the location holds an importance but not exactly what’s going to happen just by seeing the location. Viewers don’t learn the true meaning of the location in the opening sequence however they do learn the meaning of it by the first 10 minutes. Since we’ll only be filming the opening scene we will show the true meaning at the end. The opening scene only was at one location. Introduction to the Music Video Project

  For my music video, I will be working alongside Sydney Woods, St-Flore Vernes and Sarah Thervil. I chose to work with them because I personally know them so I can trust them to have their work done on time. Another thing is it's simply it's easier to work in a group. I'd rather have multiple hands on board and get it done in a timely manner rather than be rushing last minute and have it look last minute. I'll make sure to keep in mind our deadlines so it won't be just another rushed project. Another good thing about this group is we're all seniors and we're all trying to get our AICE diplomas so this is one of our priorities. We chose Destiny's Child - Independent Women. At first, we were debating "Lose My Breath" as the song but this song worked better for us.
