On 11-30-20, me and my groupmates filmed my part alone and our group video. It was a fun experience all in all. I included a picture above to show what our inspiration was. Destiny's Child was a group known for their differences but their similarities the same. Some differences would include their hairstyles and hair colors. They color coordinated and made their outfits alike a lot of the times. During our group shots, we would pick a certain color like red and find different variations of that outfit. Or we would pick a style sense like casual and go based off that. We shot multiple shots but in 2 different outfits. We had to make sure every shot matched up with the song. Before the shots, we would take time to listen to the song to make sure whatever scene we were shooting made sense. Our group establishing shot took the most time. It was one of the hardest to match up with the song as well. Doing it in the dressing rooms actually was really important to the scene. It was one of the only ways that we could make sure each girl got their own shine. Also the mirror shot was a nice shot to show that all these independent women were friends. It showed that independent women didn't always have to such a negative connotation. These independent women were independent and living their lives. Independent women took form in Sydney, Sarah, St-Flore and I. Great filming!

  How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? -   My product uses conventions by having on heavy display the song "Independent Women Pt. 1" and having the matching outfits and more. Things that bring in the idea of Destiny's Child as a group. Having little moments where we seem real close was important because Destiny's Child always came off as a sisterhood and nothing less. It represents the teen social group or just anyone that's a fan of Destiny's Child because it's a Destiny's Child song.   How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?  -  My product doesn't engage with any audiences because a music video very rarely does. If anything, the only way I can think of it engaging with an audience is maybe if we had incorporated "fans" into the video. A music video is usually all about the artist and their art. Genre Research: All the Bright Places

  Welcome back to our next and final genre research movie. The movie we chose was All the Bright Places. The first thing we noticed about the opening sequence was the location since they were on a bridge.  The viewers can automatically assume that the bridge has some meaning to one of the main characters since she was standing on it. We want our location to have importance to the opening scene. We want people to be able to guess that the location holds an importance but not exactly what’s going to happen just by seeing the location. Viewers don’t learn the true meaning of the location in the opening sequence however they do learn the meaning of it by the first 10 minutes. Since we’ll only be filming the opening scene we will show the true meaning at the end. The opening scene only was at one location. Introduction to the Music Video Project

  For my music video, I will be working alongside Sydney Woods, St-Flore Vernes and Sarah Thervil. I chose to work with them because I personally know them so I can trust them to have their work done on time. Another thing is it's simply it's easier to work in a group. I'd rather have multiple hands on board and get it done in a timely manner rather than be rushing last minute and have it look last minute. I'll make sure to keep in mind our deadlines so it won't be just another rushed project. Another good thing about this group is we're all seniors and we're all trying to get our AICE diplomas so this is one of our priorities. We chose Destiny's Child - Independent Women. At first, we were debating "Lose My Breath" as the song but this song worked better for us.
