How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? - My product uses conventions by having on heavy display the song "Independent Women Pt. 1" and having the matching outfits and more. Things that bring in the idea of Destiny's Child as a group. Having little moments where we seem real close was important because Destiny's Child always came off as a sisterhood and nothing less. It represents the teen social group or just anyone that's a fan of Destiny's Child because it's a Destiny's Child song. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text? - My product doesn't engage with any audiences because a music video very rarely does. If anything, the only way I can think of it engaging with an audience is maybe if we had incorporated "fans" into the video. A music video is usually all about the artist and their art. If this was a real me...
Welcome back to our next and final genre research movie. The movie we chose was All the Bright Places. The first thing we noticed about the opening sequence was the location since they were on a bridge. The viewers can automatically assume that the bridge has some meaning to one of the main characters since she was standing on it. We want our location to have importance to the opening scene. Viewers don’t learn the true meaning of the location in the opening sequence however they do learn the meaning of it by the first 10 minutes. Since we’ll only be filming the opening scene we will show the true meaning at the end. The opening scene only was at one location. It did go by fast but however our video will need more time to make sure the point goes through properly. The Mise-en-Scene matched perfectly. The male main character was se...
The next step of our project is planning . T his is the time where we think of which conventions, we want to incorporate and which ones we will le a ve out. There were a lot of conventions seen and noted . However, we can only fit so much into a minute-long vide o . Props: Since the song is about women getting what they desire through their own earnings, the scene where we a re at the mall props such as money , shopping bags , and what we buy will be used. The ind ividual scene s won’t have props that go with the music , but rather th e actions made by each actor will be a representation of the music. Costumes: We will be all dressed in different attire for our personal scenes. But there will be a point where we are all in o...
