How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? -   My product uses conventions by having on heavy display the song "Independent Women Pt. 1" and having the matching outfits and more. Things that bring in the idea of Destiny's Child as a group. Having little moments where we seem real close was important because Destiny's Child always came off as a sisterhood and nothing less. It represents the teen social group or just anyone that's a fan of Destiny's Child because it's a Destiny's Child song.   How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?  -  My product doesn't engage with any audiences because a music video very rarely does. If anything, the only way I can think of it engaging with an audience is maybe if we had incorporated "fans" into the video. A music video is usually all about the artist and their art. If this was a real me...

Welcome back, after going through all the other steps with us, it's only fair you get to see the finished product. This blog is to talk about more thoughts that went through our heads when making this video. One thing my group mates and I could proudly say is that it did not turn out bad. We realized that things may not always happen the way you plan them, so you must always have a backup plan just in case. This video was a success in many different ways. This video pushed us to learn new skills. We were able to keep each other on top of our work and getting things done on time. Working on a task together with friends made the task way more enjoyable. The workload and stress are also dimmed down if the work is split correctly. We didn’t want one group member to have a heavier workload than another. We made sure that each group member was doing the same amount of work throughout this process. It also allowed us to have learning experiences outside of the classroom. Not everyone poss...

Our group had so many nice takes that we did what every rational group would do. We all made different videos. We all had different endings. We all started our music video at different times too. It was actually really funny because it was the battle of the video. We obviously only chose one and Sarah ended beating us all. Hers made more sense than anyone elses's I believe. I used OpenShot to edit my video while everyone else used a different editing app. Sarah used iMovie on her phone which was amazing because the quality came out very professional. I made a mental note to use iMovie in the future because I doubt it gave her the trouble OpenShot gave me. It was a very long process using OpenShot just because it was my first time using the app. I usually used an editing app that I got from the app store but I wanted to do something different this time. The hardest part about my music video was my part actually. I had one of the shortest parts so I had to make it long enough so we ...

On 11-30-20, me and my groupmates filmed my part alone and our group video. It was a fun experience all in all. I included a picture above to show what our inspiration was. Destiny's Child was a group known for their differences but their similarities the same. Some differences would include their hairstyles and hair colors. They color coordinated and made their outfits alike a lot of the times. During our group shots, we would pick a certain color like red and find different variations of that outfit. Or we would pick a style sense like casual and go based off that. We shot multiple shots but in 2 different outfits. We had to make sure every shot matched up with the song. Before the shots, we would take time to listen to the song to make sure whatever scene we were shooting made sense. Our group establishing shot took the most time. It was one of the hardest to match up with the song as well. Doing it in the dressing rooms actually was really important to the scene. It was one o...
